CASE N°46 – Ovarian Carcinoma

Clinical History:

Age: 65

Sex: Female

Total body PET:
present multiple areas of pathological hyperaccumulation in  the abdomen arranged in hypermetabolic stripes of omental  thickening mainly to the lower quadrants and frank nodules mainly in the upper half. Marked peritoneal effusion.
Conclusions:
Presence of an extensive spread of neoplastic disease. The distribution is suggestive of adnexal primitiveness.

Cytological Report:

Presence of many glandular epithelial malignant tumor cells characterized by large cytoplasmic vacuoles, sometimes arranged in
papillary clusters. Activated mesothelial cells, some lymphocytes, granulocytes, and erythrocytes.
Positive for malignancy.
